Erato Tzavara was born in 1981 in Athens. She completed her secondary studies at Moraitis School. She then attended the Department of Psychology, at Panteion University, where she studied “Constructivist” Theories of Development of Self and Contemporary Theories of Narrative. Her interest in the medium of photography emerged in her first years as a student. In 2005 she turned her gaze to England and began a graduate course in Visual Communication at Goldsmiths College in London. Upon its completion in 2006, she presented her work in the form of an interactive video installation as a result of studying interactive cinema.
Since then she lives and works in London as a professional in digital multimedia with local educational organizations and artists from the field of live arts. As a trainer she has extensive experience as an organizer of artistic activities for refugee children (National Center for Refugees, Athens). She has conducted workshops in Animation and Design with adolescents in prisons (England), video lessons for young women (Senegal, Africa) and motor activities using interactive media for people with disabilities (England). As an artist she focuses on the presentation of digital media (photo, video, animation) in installation or in conjunction with performance and has exhibited her work in London, Lisbon, Athens and New Delhi.
